Translating from an interview with Ukrainian military expert Ivan Stupak to Obozrevatel:
"I want to be optimistic but I do not see such a perspective so far. I'll make a simple analogy. For now, Ukraine is like a patient in a hospital. He is treated so that he does not die. They give him drugs, clean, bring food. But only enough so that he stays alive. Although the hospital has modern equipment and drugs to cure the patient completely, they are not given to him because this is the hospital's policy.
Yes, Ukraine isn't dying, the Europeans are helping us, but they lack the breakthrough equipment that the Americans have. The Europeans need time - I think 5 to 7 years in order to produce something big and serious and replace the Americans in armament. But we haven't as much time. And the USA do not want to give us what they have, for political reasons."
