The definition of idiocy

"The (British) Home Office's own guidance issued to immigration officers concedes that Iran executes homosexual men but, unaccountably, rejects the claim that there is a systematic repression of gay men and lesbians."
Quote from Independent, hattip Robert Spencer.

I get tired reading in western newspapers about Arab gays,Iraqi gays,Saudi gays,Dubai gays,Iranian gays and Muslim gays in San Francisco, mistreatment of women in the Islamic world.

There is a hypocrisy in western media when it comes to news about Arab World, rarely I read about human right violations which happens on a daily basis in Islamic world. As if Human Rights Violations in Islamic World is only exclusive to gays, Lesbians and women.

Reminds me that every day I have to listen or read about stupid news about the lives Britney Spears or Paris Hilton and this is Headlines news in my local newspaper.

Unfortunately the world loves trashy news including Arab media, because that what sells. Bashing Arabs is good business, bashing Bulgarians is bad business because no one is interested about Bulgaria. It is a true fact.

There are other news to write about the Arab World besides gays, lesbians, abused women, Iraqi War and etc............

Bulgaria also gets some bashing. See my Nov. 12, 2007 post:

It is about undeserved (to my opinion) bashing. Recently, we have received some deserved bashing because of our institutions for disabled children.
Indeed, not as much as Arab countries and Iran; but Bulgaria is small and unimportant.
My present post, and the Independent article quoted, was actually meant to bash Britain rather than Iran.
Personally, I think that everybody who comes from Iran or another non-free country to a free country needs just say, "I want asylum because I want to be free and safe". There shouldn't be any need to prove that he needs it e.g. because he is homosexual and his boyfriend has been already executed. Heterosexual Iranians also deserve asylum in free countries if they want it. I would mention this in the post but I didn't want to "dilute" the idiocy of British authorities.
I disagree with you that the world is talking too much about abuse of women and homosexuals in the Muslim world. As long as it continues, I would like it talked about. You are right, however, that other abuses aren't talked about enough.
I disagree that the above mentioned news are "trashy" like those about Spears and Hilton.
You aren't homosexual, are you? Are you, then, ready to leave the homosexuals behind? All dictatorships want to play this game. And when they come for you... you know.
