How to neutralize Putin

Translating from the Dialog, June 8:

"Portnikov said that "Koshchei's death is not in sanctions", voicing an effective way to "neutralize" Putin

Vitaly Portnikov assured that the war can be ended quickly if the US provides Ukraine with enough weapons.

[Vitaly Portnikov is a Ukrainian journalist; Koshchei is a monster from a folk tale which can be killed by destroying a target located outside its body.

The more military aid Ukraine receives from the West, in particular from the United States, the faster it will be possible to end the war, believes Vitaly Portnikov. At the same time, the political observer recalled that Trump does not want to help Ukraine, and this is a big problem for us that we need to try to solve.

"Let's imagine that Trump would freeze relations with Putin. This would be correct from a political point of view, if you want to know my opinion. I believe that the collapse of Putin's diplomatic isolation at the hands of Trump is a victory for Putin. Let's imagine that this happened. Would that stop the war?" - the publicist expressed his opinion.

TV presenter Vadim Radionov clarified: "This will not stop the war, but it can increase support for Ukraine, including in the military sense, which, as I understand it, he is not doing."

Vitaly Portnikov responded: "Here! These are in no way connected. You can end relations with Putin, you can introduce new sanctions against Russia, but at the same time not increase military aid to Ukraine. You are absolutely right. The death of Koshchei is not in sanctions or in telephone conversations, during which both presidents cannot put down the phone."

"The death of Koshchei is in military aid to Ukraine, but here the first point is Trump's reluctance to give this aid, because the less aid Ukraine has, the faster it will agree to Russian conditions and rid him of this problem. Secondly, it is obvious that the US does not have the military aid that will allow it to quickly change the situation at the front," the journalist explained."
