On June 1, Ukraine performed the brilliant Operation Spiderweb, attacking Russian military airports with drones and destroying or damaging dozens of planes.
An ignored aspect of the event is that many of these planes belonged to Ukraine in the first place but the USA and the UK bullied Ukraine to give them away to Russia, together with all nuclear weapons Ukraine had, in exchange for promises of protection that proved false. Translating from UNIAN:
"Former Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov recalled that Ukraine once transferred these bombers to Russia as part of a nuclear disarmament agreement.
"On June 1, 2025, Ukraine began to confiscate these very aircraft from one of the main guarantors of the memorandum," he said, calling it "a form of military-legal sanctions.""
