Youths riot, loot and burn in France, with a preference to Jewish places

In recent days, tens of thousands of French high school students (mostly of immigrant background) have rallied with demands for increased funding of schools - all this while Europe is facing an existential enemy kept at bay only by the heroism of Ukrainians. Protests escalated into riots; in the city of Limoges, a beautiful historical building was burned to the ground (trigger warning for lovers of art and architecture). Then on Sunday, "a Paris synagogue was ransacked and Jewish-owned businesses were damaged... In Marseille, which has one of Europe's largest Jewish communities, rioters looted numerous businesses, including Jewish-owned establishments. French journalist Paul Amar alleged that rioters specifically targeted Jewish businesses while sparing Muslim-owned stores." Well, I remember how in the 1990s, the French were bewaring our prospective immigrants like the plague, and were chastising us that we must stay in our country and work to make it a better place - while welcoming millions from other countries known as hotbeds of religious extremism.
