From Sky News, Sept. 18:
"Former Ukrainian ambassador says Trump's comments 'quite welcome'
Responding to Trump's comments earlier that Vladimir Putin "really let me down," the former Ukrainian ambassador to the UK called it a "change of mode that is quite welcome".
Vadym Prystaiko told Sky's Mark Austin that "you can imagine that Ukrainians, found that finally, finally, the president of United States is saying what we've been trying to hand over to him".
He added that Kyiv has been telling Washington that "Putin will not just let you down, he will sort of build upon this, and he will go and threaten the whole alliance with an indecisive president of the United States".
"We just hope that the whole government structure, both of the NATO and the US itself, received this message," he said.
Prystaiko then said: "I don't know where Trump got this idea that he has very good relationships with Putin, but he was trying definitely to abuse this expectation"."
