Military expert Oleg Zhdanov warned residents of frontline areas about the subtle danger lurking there 

If you don't leave territories that may eventually be occupied, you run a high risk of being mobilized and fighting for Russia against your fellow citizens, warned Oleg Zhdanov. Those who think their lives will improve with the advent of the "Russian world" should take a closer look at how people live in the occupied territories.  

Oleg Zhdanov issued this warning to residents of frontline territories on his YouTube channel. 

"We've been talking about this for a long time, and this isn't the first wave of mobilization in the occupied territories. The first wave was around 2023. They tried to recruit 10,000. Then, in 2024, they wanted to recruit about 50,000. Now they want to recruit between 50,000 and 100,000. This is what we've been talking about. What's so scary about the occupation, and why should we evacuate instead of waiting for the Russian occupiers? You see, the Russians are forcing the entire male population between 18 and 55 to line up. Those who don't want to line up are sent to basements. Ultimately, they either break their nerve and force them to line up, or they're killed, and they simply disappear," the military expert said.

Zhdanov noted: "This is what we're trying to explain to those who are 'waiting', who don't want to evacuate from the war zone, and even to our partners. We explain that if Ukraine falls, they will force our male population to fight against the countries of the European Union, against NATO itself. That's how the occupiers operate.""
