From the Dialog, Oct 9:
"Shvets explained why Putin has become bolder on the issue of war against NATO and how this is connected to the Pentagon leak
Yuriy Shvets reported that the US "pushed" Putin to take more active steps in the war against NATO.
Yuriy Shvets drew his viewers' attention to a curious fact that has received little media coverage, but could have prompted Putin to take more aggressive action against European countries. A Pentagon source reported in late summer that the United States intended to stop funding European security. Yuriy Shvets shared this information on his YouTube channel.
"It turns out that at the end of August, Pentagon officials notified European allies (I haven't seen this information widely reported in the press) that the US would cut funding for key security programs aimed at containing Russia on NATO's eastern flank. You've probably heard the echoes. The discussion was about the Baltic states being the first to be cut. Apparently, the Kremlin interpreted this move as a green light for a dangerous war against NATO itself," the experienced intelligence officer reported.
Yuri Shvets then elaborated on what might have spurred Putin's resolve: "After that, as you know, it all started: Russian drones appeared in NATO airspace, then fighter jets flew in. Then the drones began flying deeper and deeper. They reached Denmark and hovered over Munich Airport, and the underlying reason was that some unknown Pentagon official announced that we were done. It's unlikely, of course, that the United States will save a lot of money by cutting off funding for security programs in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.""

I am sure that Trump's purpose in cutting these programs was not to sell money but to facilitate the takeover of Europe by his beloved Putin.
