Comments on the Palestinian community and the recognition of its "state"

Comments from a Reddit thread:

"

144 countries already recognize Palestine as a state. Increasing that number to 152 won't have any actual benefit for the Palestinians.

The countries recognizing a Palestinian state this month are doing so because they have large Muslim populations and politicians see it as a vote winner. It doesn't have anything to do with benefiting Palestinians at all.

There are some benefits to Palestinians, but nobody cares about those. No government actually wants to deal with Palestinians. Jordan deliberately made itself smaller just to stop having to deal with them (which is how they got independence in 1988). Egypt helps blockade them. Why? Because Palestine is nothing but trouble. Historically their primary exports have been missile attacks, coup attempts, suicide bombings and aircraft hijackings.

Even Israel flip flops between leaving them alone and realising this was a bad idea when some Palestinian group or other attacks them.

Their only ally is Iran, who doesn't care about them either, and just uses them as a proxy force.

But part of Iran's strategy is to generate sympathy for them, and sow antisemitism, so lots of governments use anti Israel/pro Palestine actions as prolefeed. It's a good way to win the Muslim vote, at least the ones who've never had to deal with Palestine.

Recognising their statehood is a way of showing support without actually doing anything. Because nobody has any solutions that would be compatible with basic human rights. What do you do with millions of people who want to kill all Jews and gay people, and have the explicit, stated goal of outbreeding Israel to overwhelm them? If you empower them they'll just do that, if you kill them you're no better than them, and the status quo is horrific as well.

It's unworkable, and everyone other than Israel is doing their best not to get involved beyond issuing condemnations, safe in the knowledge that they won't be held accountable.

The Palestinians have been offered a state 5 times now and rejected it every single time. When Israel pulled out of Gaza it ended up a disaster.

According to international law, and ratified by the only independent due process Court hearing in the matter ever in the High Court of Appeals in Versailles in 2012, Israel are the legal occupiers. The UN does not have the authority to order a country to give up sovereign land it owns. It is all virtue signalling and hate, led by countries with Israel hate and is nothing more than virtue signalling.

Notice none apart from France are insisting the hostages are returned and are basically rewarding Hamas for bikes and heinous crimes against humanity and war crimes. Never in the history of the modern world has anything happened like this, only towards the world's only Jewish state."
