"Whether two, three, or four Hungarian drones crossed the border or not is not the issue. Let's say they flew a few meters into the country – so what? Ukraine is not an independent, sovereign country; we are the ones keeping it afloat, so it should not act as if it were," he said in a podcast organized by his political party. These comments were yet another escalation in the anti-Ukraine rhetoric of the nationalist leader, well known for his close ties to Vladimir Putin.

"The good news is that Prime Minister Orbán has admitted that some drones did enter Ukrainian airspace from Hungary. But the bad news is that the Prime Minister remains intoxicated by Russian propaganda," said Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha. Meanwhile, Zelensky said that "if such drones appear again," he had instructed his military to "respond appropriately," implying the drones could be shot down...""

Unian reported on the event on September 26:

"Unknown drones were flying in Transcarpathia this summer, and then Russia attacked the region, according to Flash

Reconnaissance drones appeared over Transcarpathia as early as the summer, and then Russia launched strikes against the region. Communications, electronic warfare, and drone specialist Sergei "Flash" Beskrestnov reported this on his Telegram channel.

"In the summer, my friend Sergei Gerasimyuk detected activity from unknown UAVs over Transcarpathia. I had to rush off and go there with my equipment, then again, and again," he wrote.

According to "Flash," his colleagues from various agencies were skeptical of these reports at the time, as the presence of Russian reconnaissance drones so far from the front seemed completely improbable.

"But I reported it to everyone I could, and so did Sergei. Then there was the attack on the electronics plant, and it became clear that this was no accident. Now the President has officially announced it. Bottom line: absolutely everything needs to be verified and don't assume that something can't happen in this life," Beskrestnov added.

As UNIAN reported before, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported today that reconnaissance drones, likely launched from Hungarian territory, had been detected in Ukrainian airspace. Zelenskyy received the corresponding report from Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyy. The Hungarian Foreign Ministry responded in an extremely undiplomatic manner. Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó stated that "Zelenskyy is losing his mind" and "is beginning to see things that don't really exist.""
