Ukraine was given F-16 planes but not missiles for them

Translating from the Dialog, Aug. 24:

"Gudkov confided to Ukrainians what crucial information was missing when the F-16s were delivered: "I know this for sure."

[Russian opposition activist] Gennady Gudkov stated that NATO has missiles for the F-16s that can shoot down bombers

Ukraine would have suffered fewer casualties if the F-16s had been supplied with special missiles capable of shooting down strategic bombers, Gennady Gudkov reported...

"Now we're seeing another strike using gliding bombs. My question is: 'Where are the missiles that are supposed to stop the bombers?' NATO has them, but for some reason they forgot to supply them to Ukraine's F-16s and other aircraft for which these missiles are designed, so they wouldn't allow the bombers to enter Ukrainian territory. I know this for sure. I know from European pilots who trained the Ukrainians that these missiles still haven't been delivered," the Russian opposition leader shared his information with viewers.

"When I ask, 'Why don't you shoot down the bombers?' I ask the military, and they tell me, 'We have nothing.' 'What do you mean, nothing? Do you have F-16s?' 'We have F-16s, but we haven't been given the missiles that can stop bombers, prevent them from getting close enough to drop their deadly payload.' So, when bombers cross the border and are escorted by Russian aircraft, they are invulnerable or vulnerable at the cost of heavy losses. That's what the pilots told me, and I'm sorry, I was dumbfounded," Gennady Gudkov said, outraged by the situation."
