From the Unian, Aug. 24:
"Europe and the United States will under no circumstances deploy their troops to Ukrainian territory, as they fear a direct confrontation with Russia. This opinion was expressed by Ukrainian Armed Forces officer Oleksandr Matyash...
"I believe there will be no foreign troops on Ukrainian territory. We have international legions, mostly made up of Spanish-speaking citizens who came here to earn money. I believe that neither Europe nor the United States will, under any circumstances, introduce their troops into Ukrainian territory. They're afraid," he said.
Matyash noted that Russia could have already lost the war if Ukraine's allies had been bolder and joined the fighting. He added that even China wouldn't have sided with Russia.
"If they weren't afraid, this war would already be won. Russia would have lost what it has. They don't want to join this war. And I consider that a strategic mistake. If they all joined now, I think we would win this war. And China wouldn't be ready to join. And that would be a very good signal for Taiwan. But now, in my opinion, China attacks Taiwan, and America will do nothing. Again, that's my opinion," the Ukrainian Armed Forces officer emphasized."
